We just celebrated a beautiful wedding for our daughter right on the sands of Lake Tahoe. So now we have even more information all about weddings! The lake has many great venues including the North Tahoe Events Center and Round Hill Pines, both featuring “on the sandy shores” weddings.

Buoy information: Fall 2009

An orange tag on a buoy should mean one thing to lake residents who own moorings — it’s time to get registered.

Beginning this week the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will begin tagging buoys with orange notices to remind people that Oct. 15 is the deadline for permitting and registering Lake Tahoe moorings.

There are 4,000 buoys in need of permitting and registering around Lake Tahoe, the agency estimates. Of those, 478 buoys and 55 boat lifts have been registered, while 80 to 100 are still in the application process, said Dennis Oliver, TRPA spokeman
